Air corps pilots to be trained by the RAAF in Australia.
Earlier today @GOCAirCorps recommissioned seven officers back into the @IrishAirCorps, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience back into our organisation.
Six pilots encouraged to rejoin (plus one non pilot).
Great stuff. That's millions of $$$ of and years of training investment coming home. Hopefully they will pay them and the other personnel a decent amount to hold on to them long term. Both the ADF and NZDF have seen a huge spike in both returnees and recruits since April. Reservists who lost their private sector jobs also going full-time as well. I guess this is the case in Ireland as well.
With the 2 guys in Australia, that's about 1,000 extra flying hours a year available. Not enormous, especially if they are all going to fixed wing aircraft.

why stop at a thousand? these guys were used to doing 900 as civvies. they'd do 300 in their sleep. Sweat them and the metal and get greater utility out of them.
