    Random stuff I and others find

    I'll start

Your platoon landed at the proper DZ; your squad leaders and platoon sergeant are establishing security. But for the last 15 minutes you haven’t been able to reach anyone on the radio. That's a find!!
        'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
        'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
        Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
        He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

          Isnt it though, a real product of its time. You can see where all the Fighting Fantasy books came from.

          The lessons (if you filter out the casual racism) are timeless though and should be taught as any practical principles of defence exercise

            Yea, if you tried putting it unedited in a reading list, it would be murder!

            An interesting exercise is reading it for the first time while figuring out his mistakes. I got a few of them.

                An oldie

                Study by RAND group in 1987. Study which proves value of recon in the hasty and deliberate attack . Well worth a read ; vehicles are mostly outdated but the ideas are not. The hard data is difficult to argue with
