    I feel sorry for her little one.That poor child has done nothing and is now separated from her Mother and staying with a family she has never known.

    As for the mother.

    F**k her. Traitor.
    "Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

      Does Portlaoise High Security have a womens wing? Cos Dóchas is too good for her.
      (presuming of course she is remanded, charged, and convcted of whatever she is currently being questioned for)
      For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

        Children are taken from unsuitable parents every week. The safety and welfare of the child long-term is paramount, and the child is now safe, and with family, which is better than some. Probably, more effort and scrutiny has probably gone into this (and will be in the future) than other children that have been traumatised.

        The woman herself is not a victim. I hope that she isn’t portrayed or treated as such. There are plenty of victims of ISIS in Ireland and the U.K. who the press are not desperate to interview.
        'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
        'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
        Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
        He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

              She's home and now in questioning and is likely to there a long time depending on how co-operative she is. I am sure that there has been a comprehensive file assembled by both our intelligence agencies and those of the British. And that information will be much more accurate than anything that has been written in the press in the last year. She could be a potential gold mine of information, information that could make us all safer;
              Why did she convert? Why did she feel drawn to travel to Syria? How did she integrate into their system? How does the ISIS society work? What influences are they subjected too? What she knows about their military, structure, tactics, training...………. And once we are finished talk to her I am sure there will be plenty of other intelligence agencies just wait to get a chance to talk to her. The press will have to wait decades and a book will never be in her lifetime (unless something major happens to eliminate Islamic terrorism).

              We have troops on active deployment in the areas which could be subject to attack from groups associated with Islamic State so any information we get that can make those men and women safer must be welcomed.

              If on the other hand she does not co-operate and there is sufficient collaborated evidence that she is guilty of an offence under the Offences against the Sate Act 1939, then she will go to prison. Only then should we start using language such as "treason" or "traitor". If for no other reason as to avoid the later defence that the accused person could not get a fair trial due to the negative publicity.

                    Well the DPP obviously thinks there is sufficient evidence

                    Plus she has been denied bail and been sent to the Duchas Centre (isolated for her protection)
