We are trapped in the historical use of discriptive language ,both in religions and everyday lives. In all religious texts, other than brief references to stories about or involving females everything else is brothers, and brethern. Matthew's Gospel says " All the nations will be assembled before him and he will separate Men one from Another." We refer to man days when calculating how long jobs will take and nobody has trouble with Wo men or Wo man. We also have to deal with dictionary descriptions of Seaman as any enlisted man in the Navy. It might not be right to bury or overpaint feminism or rewrite nature to a point of social unity in all facilities aboard ships.
