  • ADR Deployment 06

So as far as i can see the weekend was a roaring success, we tracked some very good pilots from the air corps, did the job well and had a bit of crack doing it too.

To all those who were there i ask how do you think the weekend could have been made better?

Also there are i think, a lot of new faces from the ADR on here so this might be a good way of finding each other. also feel free to share any memories you have of the weekend.

Yaaahr! NS were very obliging, good food and a tour of the Eithne. Minimum of bs, just got the job done and got out again fast. A good experience for the gunners regards observation and procedure while the higher-ups played their radar games. You just better know your port and starboard while looking for the tea-urn....

Great shots of the GPMG but the rest of them look very familiar.

can I ask, why was the GPMG mounted onto the fence?
Dr. Venture: Why is it every time I need to get somewhere, we get waylaid by jackassery?

Dr. Venture: Dean, you smell like a whore

              It wasnt.
It was on an Air Defence mount similiar to this one..

it looks like its on the fence because its close to it.

I saw some pics that the Naval photgrapher took last night.
Ill get a copy of them off the unit and post the best ones here..some great aerial snaps showing the RBS 70's and the Giraffe radar.

Haulbowline and surrounding harbour area secure.

Haulbowline and the surrounding harbour area was subjected to attack by air recently. (Exersise). Pilatus and Allouette supplied by Air Corps. Huge well done to the Air Defnce batteries on a textbook deployment and defence of Cork harbours Military, utility and industrial installations. A fine example of improvisation, Adaptation, professionalism and Co-Operation of a large mix of units both PDF and Army Reserve.

Special note for Command & Control, Admin and Logs.

Reserve lead the way............ A teamwork revolution.

Hi armed boarder. I believe the Flycatcher system incorporates a video camera which allows the operator to have a video image of the selected target during engagement. Is it recordable? Do you have any recorded images of the recent exercise?
