That could be interesting alright. Probably hopeful of getting part time MOs

I can see nothing about the RDF Medical Corps only Medical Doctors/Medical Officers which are not RDF.

Try and apply for something in the Brugha

"In order to apply for the Medical Corps, you must have achieved at least one of the following qualifications. Please select the level of qualification you have achieved to date." use the pulldown box.

Good it will get rid of having a separate recruit syllabus/training for the medical heads which resulted in good medics(?) but poor soldiers.Common syllabus for all to start.Only way to go.
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

Yeah ... This is a welcome enlistment criteria and will only stand to provide a better standard of medic in the medical corp as well as allow us to concentrate on the military medicine.
I went into an Italian restaurant and ordered dessert and they gave me tiramisu and a blindfolded horse and I said No, I said mask a pony (mascarpone)

They've fixed the RDF locations issue at least so someone is watching. Gracias!

A friend of mine's son applied to join the RDF in CBB.

                        He is 17 and Fit.

He got a reply saying he does not meet the requirements.

Does anyone know what requirements he may have fallen short of?

                              Commitment is as follows:

                              2014:
48 hours unpaid + 8 hours voluntary unpaid
Annual medical (may take 2+ days possibly during week)
Annual fitness test (min 2 days possibly during week)
Annual weapons test (min 2 days probably on weekend(s))
Min 7 days full time (usually Sat-Fri as a block)

                              2015:
As above but voluntary unpaid is 12 hours.

For hours (off the top of my head):
                              2-4 hrs = 2 hours
                              4-8 hrs = 4 hours
                              8-12 hours = 8 hours
