  • Fitness Test

    Hello all,

Sorry if this has been done before but I had a look military.ie and on here using the search function and couldn't find what I'm looking for.

Does anyone have the grades for the fitness testing and the age brackets?

I know there's prob a table showing the info I'm looking for somewhere but I can't find it.

It looks good, I know the last part is changed, can't remember them though, I'll ask my Lt during the week...

Is it a Grade 4 or Grade 5 the pass point for the RDF this year?

Heard that if you want to do ANY course, required a minimum grade 3?

No, depends on the course - Grade 3 for most courses but not all. Joining Instructions will say.

No. Most courses specify "have passed ITs Parts 1,2, and 3" - a pass normally means Grade 4, Grade 5 for RDF for 2014 only
As Dev says, if other fitness standards apply, this will be stated
"Well, stone me! We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!" (Jimmy Greaves)!"

Practically all courses have a fitness requirement, unless otherwise stated that is Grade 4.

For some courses, eg RDF YOs Cse, it in Grade 3 but they are the exception rather than the rule.

Grade 5 for RDF for 2013 is for KPIs only, not courses.

Its only temporary - for this year - next year same requirements as PDF
"He is an enemy officer taken in battle and entitled to fair treatment."
"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."

just wondering - and maybe i am taking this up wrongly, but why different fitness grades for different courses and in particular - why different fitness grades for Reservists?

unless attempting specialist selection surely all courses and all individuals should have the same minimum requirement - PDF and RDF?
